Privacy Policy
The short version
Storylight Quest collects no personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party software inside the app. Everything you and your family do in the app stays on your device.
Who we are
Storylight Quest is published by Jeanne Bankson ("we", "us"). Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@storylightquest.com.
What stays on your device
The app stores the following in its own private storage on the device, and nowhere else:
- Player profiles: the name typed in for each player, the chosen avatar, and the question level.
- Progress: cards won, tokens earned, and journey completion for each player.
- Settings: read-aloud, haptics, sounds, and Bible translation preferences.
- A record of which purchases the device is entitled to, so the app works offline.
We never see this information. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. If your device backs up to iCloud or a computer, this data is included in that backup under your own Apple ID and Apple's terms. You can delete all of it at any time with Reset all progress (in More, behind the grown-ups check) or by deleting the app.
A player's name can be anything you like. It does not have to be a real name.
Purchases
Purchases are made through Apple's App Store using your Apple ID. Apple processes the payment and tells the app only whether the purchase is valid. We do not receive your name, email address, payment details, or any other personal information from a purchase. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's privacy policy.
Children
Storylight Quest is designed for families, including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect, use, or share personal information from anyone, and that includes children. There is no way to create an account, enter contact details, or communicate with other people inside the app. The app shows no advertising. Purchases, external links, and progress reset are placed behind a grown-ups check so that children cannot reach them on their own.
If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@storylightquest.com and we will delete it.
Links to other services
The reading screen offers a link to open the current passage on bible.com (YouVersion). The link sits behind the grown-ups check. Once you leave the app, the privacy policy of that service applies. We do not receive any information about what you do there.
Apple's App Privacy label
The app's listing on the App Store reports Data Not Collected, which reflects everything above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Changes that affect how data is handled will also be described in the app's release notes.
